Each fire protection system has a tube that acts as both detector and the dispenser of the fire suppression medium. The tube is placed in the immediate vicinity of the potential fire source, as the temperature rises the tube melts at the actual point of the heat development deploying the suppression medium directly onto the affected area. The tube can be used to both detect and deploy the suppressant or it can be used for detection with a system of nozzles and pipework employed to dispense the medium. As such this system is effectively both fire detector equipment and fire protection system at the same time.
