Northern Racing Limited the customer service driven group that owns 10 racecourses across the UK has contracted Nobel Fire Systems to design and install multiple fire suppression systems in its catering kitchens at Chepstow and Newcastle Race Courses.

Each course is a unique and versatile venue which, although specialising in horse racing, accommodates many other commercial and leisure activities. As part of the overall work programme, health and safety issues were naturally scrutinised as commercial kitchens pose unique fire risks, gathering large numbers of customers at one time while also engaging in cooking activities that inherently pose the risk of fire.

The recommendation to talk to Nobel Fire Systems initially came from one of the UK’s top three general insurers, Allianz Insurance. Allianz continually carries out detailed reviews of available services, products and quality standards relating to fire suppression systems in commercial kitchens. The outstanding capabilities demonstrated by Nobel Fire Systems, plus positive feed-back from existing customers has led to Nobel attaining Allianz ‘Preferred Supplier’ status. As such, this leading insurance company had no hesitation in advising Northern Racing to discuss their fire suppression needs with Nobel.

Nobel Fire Systems were able to satisfy all requirements by fitting the UK’s premier wet chemicals kitchen fire suppression system K-Series across the multiple sites. The Nobel K-Series has provided Northern Racing with full protection to its entire kitchen cooking appliances, extract canopy and duct work. Another important factor was the speed and efficiency with which Nobel was able to install the system at both Race Courses.
